News! Group Exhibition Opening in Lakewood Colorado (Denver Area) – incl. works by Ema Tanigaki

Architecture of Form – exhibition opening on Friday May 10, 2024 5-10 PM

We are happy to announce that sculptures by both Ema Tanigaki and John Healey were selected for the juried exhibit “Architecture of Form.”  All the works we submitted were selected but we are only able to participate with the two smaller works due to our scheduling issues.

We submitted to this exhibition because we were very excited by many of the previous years works.  This year the exhibition is of a national scope and we have been told is of a very high quality.  We hope you take the time to see the exhibition if you can.

Ema Tanigaki Awarded Third Place in International Foldforming Contest

The folded aluminum perforated sculpture by Ema Tanigaki titled: “One View of Mt Fuji and Great Wave” has won third place in the Lewton-Brain Foldform Competition. Please follow this link to Foldforming.org for more information on the contest and to see the other winners. We are proud to be included with these other beautiful works. The quality of the winning entries seems very high to us this year. Maybe it is the three years that everyone has had since the last competition in 2018, where Ema received the honor of Juror’s Choice.

Works for Auction/Sale at Albuquerque Museum’s Arts Thrive

Hello All. Please take three minutes to view the video I created to introduce the works I have for sale at the Albuquerque Museum’s Arts Thrive fundraising exhibition, sale and opening auction.

The Exhibition opens on October 9, 2021 starting with an online 3 day auction with bidding beginning on October 7. Although the in person gala has been canceled to ensure our arts patrons remain safe, there is a Saturday Morning Auction preview of the exhibition with limited capacity and safety measurements in place. For those locals who would like to see the works in person before bidding, please take advantage of this opportunity. Those who would like to try on the jewelry before purchase will be assisted by the Museum Staff. If a gold plated version of these jewelry designs are desired, I will take commissions but at a much higher price as material prices are rising at a rapid rate.

For those living more distantly, here is a video we created in studio to give you a better 360 degree view of the new sculptures, and a view of the replacement pieces that will be available. I have also created a slideshow of the works with more detailed information on the individual works. Please see: http://healeystudio.com/TheArtofEmaTanigaki

The auction catalog is available to viwew the works on sale now! Please visit: https://virtualauction.bid/ArtsThriveOnlineAuction I think you will enjoy the many works that will be available.

Visit http://www.albuquerquemuseumfoundation.org for more information more artists videos. Also please register for the free “unGala” event on the evening of October 9.

Please remember that the Albuquerque Museum is open and the exhibition will be available for view from October 9 to December 5. 2021.

Please forward this information to your friends and acquaintances that might be interested in this fun event and to support arts and culture in Albuquerque. Thank you!

We are excited to announce that we have discovered a new resource for ultra fine gold plated stainless steel wire. This wire is 0.0005 inches thicker than the previous wire we had custom drawn to our specifications. The new work will be lean more towards sculptural designs than in the past, however some will still be functional jewelry.

Introducing “Protea”

Dimensions: approximately 2 x 2 x 1.375 inches

Media: hand crochet gold plated stainless steel wire with glass and rose quartz spheres.

Shown on removable 14K solid gold broach pin.  Pin attachment is not included in the price.

Suggested gallery retail price $990

Please note that with the material cost increase for all metals future prices may increase significantly.

Note: this design can be converted from a sculptural object to a broach, necklace or bolo using gold filled wire custom attachments.
