John will be presenting a photographic work at Foto Forum Santa Fe. Those who are familiar with John and his work know he started as a photographer before he started to investigate the processes used to create the lenses in his cameras, which eventually led to his personal development of Optical Glass sculptures. He has never taken a break from his first passion, photography. We have always been interested in presenting new aspects of light, whether in glass or through photography. The physical output in photography, beyond the act of image capture, is where our hearts lie. We are hoping to find many kindred spirits gathered at Foto Forum. This show opens on First Friday, August 7, 2026 and runs through the end of September.

John Healey is presenting a couple of new small sculptures that he completed this year. They are a revisiting of some older works, but with a new vibe. John is calling this “Remix”, like sampling from favorite music tracks. We strongly urge you to take time to visit the summer exhibition, preferably in person, it is open through August 28, 2026. We are definitely planning to attend the opening reception this Friday, so we hope to see familiar faces there.

New Wearable Sculpture by Ema Tanigaki
Exciting News! Ema has created a new series of wearable sculpture for an exhibition in Tucson Arizona at Yun Gee Park Gallery.
We invite you to join us at the exhibition opening reception on Dec 7, 2024. This is group exhibition with 11 artists invited from around the world. This exhibition is scheduled in conjunction with the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, so please leave the first half of February open on your calendars too!
Ema will be showing all new works created especially for this exhibition based on a earlier sculptural series that caught Yun Gee Park’s eye when she took a virtual tour of our gallery. She will be showing 5 new works using a construction method she developed that is based on the structure of silk worm cocoons, many modifications and innovations were necessary to create these jewelry scale metal works based on the original methods used for small scale sculpture. It was an unexpectedly long journey, however the outcome is well worth the effort. This project has also stimulated many strong ideas that will be seen in future larger scale sculptural constructions.
This series is strongly influenced by the special theme of this exhibition, black-white-light. In particular all the works are designed to interplay with light in a very dynamic manner using a monochrome palette. Ema’s strong affinity for the spinners and their works; spiders, caterpillars, silk worms, and the other weavers in nature; are the underlying inspiration for these labor intensive small works.
This is Ema’s first time working with this gallery. We met Yun Gee Park and her husband Scott Duerstock on our last visit to Tucson earlier this year to install a sculpture and discovered a hidden treasure. We encourage you to come meet Yun Gee Park and see her unique and wonderful gallery space in person. It is an experience you will never forget.

News! Group Exhibition Opening in Lakewood Colorado (Denver Area) – incl. works by Ema Tanigaki
Architecture of Form – exhibition opening on Friday May 10, 2024 5-10 PM
We are happy to announce that sculptures by both Ema Tanigaki and John Healey were selected for the juried exhibit “Architecture of Form.” All the works we submitted were selected but we are only able to participate with the two smaller works due to our scheduling issues.
We submitted to this exhibition because we were very excited by many of the previous years works. This year the exhibition is of a national scope and we have been told is of a very high quality. We hope you take the time to see the exhibition if you can.

Opening: May 12, 2023
Museum Exhibition Opening: John Healey’s work, “Revolutions Rise” year created 1999, will be exhibited as part of the Exhibition of Stanford Lipsey’s Glass Collection at the Burchfield Penney Art Center from May 12 to December 31, 2023. We will unfortunately not be able to attend the opening due to our current project, but hope to be able to see the collection while still on exhibit.

Ema Tanigaki Awarded Third Place in International Foldforming Contest
The folded aluminum perforated sculpture by Ema Tanigaki titled: “One View of Mt Fuji and Great Wave” has won third place in the Lewton-Brain Foldform Competition. The quality of the winning entries seems very high to us this year. Maybe it is the three years that everyone has had since the last competition in 2018, where Ema received the honor of Juror’s Choice.
